zk-STARK
A newer variety of zero-knowledge proof ("scalable transparent argument of knowledge") that needs no trusted setup and is designed to resist even future quantum computers, at the cost of larger proof sizes than zk-SNARKs. The two are competing approaches to private, verifiable computation (see Zero-knowledge proof, zk-SNARK, Trusted setup).
