Fully homomorphic encryption (FHE)
An advanced form of encryption that allows computations to be performed directly on encrypted data, yielding an encrypted result that, once decrypted, matches what you would have gotten by working on the original. It means a service can process your information without ever seeing it — long a "holy grail" of cryptography, now slowly becoming practical.
