DID (Decentralized Identifier)
A new kind of identifier that a person, organization, or thing can create and control directly, without a central registrar such as a government or company. A DID is a building block of self-sovereign identity, letting users prove who they are using their own keys rather than a platform's account (see Self-sovereign identity, Verifiable credential).
